In 2000, the Martin County Preservation (MCPA) took over the building formerly known as the First Church of Christian Scientists. MCPA organized a group of highly talented and dedicated volunteers to raise a substantial amount of money to save the building.. On September 15-16th of 2005 the building was officially dedicated to the citizens of Martin County and the city of Fairmont now known as the Red Rock Center for the Arts.
